Course Dates - 2012

The courses below are all one day.  If you don't see a date or course suitable, please ask.  as other courses will be organised throughout the year,subject to demand.   Courses need a minimum of three students to run, so if  numbers are short on your chosen day, you will be offered a place on the next available course convenient to you.

 If there are enough enquiries, I will run weekday courses.  Please ask.

Cost is £105 per day for beginner courses.  This includes use of equipment, all materials (except fruit cakes),  light lunch and refreshments and the cake you have created to take home with you.

One Day Beginner courses

More advanced courses, or follow-on courses from the beginners course available on request.

Arrival any time after 9 am for a chat and a cup of coffee or tea before starting.

Start time 9.30 ..........Finish Time 4.30 pm 

Light lunch and refreshments throughout the day(plus plenty of cake to try, of course!!)

Beginners course will normally include making up a sponge cake base (already baked by ourselves), filling with jam and cream and covering with sugarpaste ready to decorate.  You will get to take your finished cake home and all materials needed will be included in the course price.  If you would rather decorate a fruit cake, there will be a small extra charge for materials.

Once you have prepared your base, you will learn how to make Royal Icing, various piping skills such as how to write, shells scrollwork etc.  Everyone works at their own speed and has different areas of interest, so if you feel you would like to spend longer on certain subjects,  we can work that in to suit you on the day.

The next part is to make edible decorations.  This can vary, but most people like to make Sugar Roses.  These are un-wired, so can be finished on the day and are easy to make at home with no special equipment needed.

Cake Decorating Parties

All the above can be held either here at Long Barn Bakery,  in your home. or  at a larger venue such as a Village Hall.  

 Duration of  parties or courses to be decided  by you.  Cost depends on numbers  of people, distance to travel if away from the Bakery

and the type of course you require.  All prices are inclusive of VAT.   Please phone for more details.
